Princess Madeleine of Sweden Pens Children’s Book to Inspire Kids to ‘Stand Up for Themselves’
She’s a princess and an author! Princess Madeleine is a member of Sweden’s royal family but she also just added children’s book author to her impressive resume. The 36-year-old took to Instagram on Monday, January 28 to share the cover art of the children’s book she wrote titled Stella and the Secret.
“I’m very excited to finally share with you a book which will hopefully show children how important it is to stand up for themselves and to tell someone when something doesn’t feel right. #worldchildhoodfoundation,” she wrote in the caption of her post. Madeleine first teased that she was working on a children’s book during an interview with Swedish outlet Expressen in February 2017. “At the moment, I can only say that it will be fun,” the royal beauty told the outlet at the time.
The book was inspired by her mother, Queen Silvia, who founded the organization World Childhood Foundation in 1999 to fight for children who are neglected, abandoned or abused. Madeleine later co-founded the organization’s ThankYou initiative with the mission to build support for the prevention of sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
In August, Madeleine and her husband, Chris O’Neill, announced that the couple and their three kids, Princess Leonore, 4, Prince Nicolas, 3, and Princess Adrienne, 10 months, were relocating from Sweden to Florida. But despite being thousands of miles away from Europe, the princess continues to work with the World Childhood Foundation and even joined her mother, Queen Silvia, in New York City for the World Childhood Foundation USA 2018 Thank You Gala this past October. So cool!
“Princess Madeleine has a great commitment to children’s rights and will continue working with the World Childhood Foundation and, through the move, be able to focus more on the activities in the United States,” the Swedish Royal Court said at the time of the family’s relocation.
