Amy Purdy isn't easily overwhelmed — the snowboarding Paralympian has endured more than a few tough times — but she was nearly in tears after her inspiring March 17 debut on ABC's Dancing with the Stars.
"I was thinking 'Holy cow! I did this!'" Amy shares with Closer about what was going through her mind after her dazzling cha-cha with partner Derek Hough. "I did the impossible!"
Amy lost her legs to bacterial meningitis when she was 19 and is the show's first competitor with two prosthetic limbs (Heather Mills competed with one prosthetic leg in season 4).
Just one day before heading to LA from DWTS, she won a bronze medal in snowboarding at the Sochi Paralympics.
