Padma Lakshmi had her bikini body on full display while ringing in her 50th birthday. The Top Chef star flaunted her toned physique while celebrating her special milestone with her longtime partner, Adam Dell, and their beloved daughter, Krishna.
In one photo, the Food Network host posed by the ocean while donning a multi-colored two-piece and a white cover-up. In the other, Padma was all smiles in a bright blue bikini while playing in the pool with the venture capitalist, also 50, and their 10-year-old kiddo.
Alongside her gorgeous snapshots, Padma reflected on turning 50. Looking back, she revealed she was more ready than ever to embrace the new decade as the past year was “a mix of misery and elation.”
“The whole world was swallowed up by the plague in March,” the Taste the Nation star explained in her post, referring to the coronavirus pandemic. “We were lucky, but so many weren’t and I felt an impending doom, a creeping anxiety I could not shake.”

Birthday thoughts ⛅️ This year has been a mix of misery and elation. The whole world was swallowed up by the plague In March. We were lucky but so many weren’t and I felt an impending doom, a creeping anxiety I could not shake. Then another Black life was taken and it was good that we all rose up- but so painful too. So painful that some of our fellow Americans could not even bring themselves to say that Black lives matter, some who hold our highest offices. But personally, at home things were peaceful. We made a cocoon for our family. We lived for the first time-all under one roof. We became closer. And professionally, I finally got to show the world what I would do if I got to build a show from scratch. ‘Taste the Nation’ was well received beyond my wildest dreams, 100% even on rotten tomatoes! But the best of all was hearing how all of you felt when you watched it, reading how families watched together. The episode with my mother and littlehands felt like a tribute to all my mother and millions of other immigrant parents had sacrificed. I cannot ask for anything more. I am truly blessed: a loving and attentive partner, a child that continues to be a miracle every day and work that I am proud of and fully engaged by with people I love. I am today very lucky. But I am also a product of the toil and troubles my younger self endured. And I thank that version of me. Thank you all so much for joining me on this trip. I have loved sharing it with all of you everyday (even the Trump supporters or those that disagree with me) #thisis50 #virgoseason
Despite the “painful” experiences, Padma also shared some of the highlights of her last year. Because her family was quarantined together amid the outbreak in the spring, the Ten Commandments host felt grateful to have “made a cocoon for [their] family” that was as “peaceful” as possible.
“We lived, for the first time, all under one roof. We became closer,” she gushed over the time she spent with Adam and Krishna. “And professionally, I finally got to show the world what I would do if I got to build a show from scratch. Taste the Nation was well-received beyond my wildest dreams, 100 percent even on Rotten Tomatoes!”
Overall, Padma noted she “[couldn’t] ask for anything” better while turning the big 5-0. “I am truly blessed [for having] a loving and attentive partner, a child that continues to be a miracle every day and work that I am proud of and fully engaged by with people I love,” she marveled. “I am today very lucky.”
Padma first started dating Adam in 2009, two years after her divorce from legendary novelist Salman Rushdie. The following year in 2010, the Love, Loss, and What We Ate author gave birth to her and Adam’s daughter, but they were involved in a custody battle for Krishna, which ended amicably, in 2012.
After years of coparenting their little girl, Page Six reported the two were officially back together in 2017. Since then, they’ve rekindled their romance and it appears their relationship is stronger than ever.
We hope Padma had the best birthday.
