True love is hard to find in Hollywood and Nicole Kidman is holding onto her everlasting romance with her husband, Keith Urban. In fact, the Big Little Lies star remembers the exact moment that she knew the country crooner was the one for her.

“It was my [38th] birthday, and he stood outside with gardenias at 5:00 a.m. on my stoop in NY,” Nicole, now 51, gushed to People in a new interview. “That is when I went, ‘This is the man I hope I get to marry.'”

And it wasn’t until Keith, who she will be celebrating thirteen years of marriage with this June, took her to Woodstock, NY on a motorbike for a getaway that blew her mind. “It was pretty intense,” Nicole said of the couple’s excursion to the site of the 1969 music festival while adding that Keith is “My kind of guy.”

It was that trip that changed their relationship forever. “I believed by that point he was the love of my life,” the Destroyer actress admitted. “Maybe that’s because I am deeply romantic, or I’m an actress, or I have strong faith as well, but I just believed, ‘Oh, okay, here he is.'” So sweet!

As a matter of fact, Nicole and Keith, also 51, met in 2005 at the G’Day USA gala. And while we can’t picture a world without the two as a couple, Keith admitted to having some reservations when it came to making a move on his now-wife. “I thought she was way out of my league. I’m a kid from Brissy and somewhere along the line I ended up meeting Nic,” Keith confessed to Andrew Denton in July 2018, according to Now To Love. “Not in a million years did I think I would end up with her.”

Keith even revealed that it took him four months to call her, which perhaps could be blamed by “this aura that seemed so out of reach,” the “Blue Ain’t Your Color’ singer explained. “I had her phone number for a while and I was thinking if I call her she’s going to answer, what do I say,” he shared. “I never thought she would be ever interested in me. But one day I plucked up the courage, I called her, she answered, and we talked and talked and talked and it was effortlessly. It was like we grew up side by side.”

Even though Nicole and Keith’s relationship didn’t begin in the most ideal way, the two lovebirds ended up tying the knot at a romantic wedding in his native Australia in July 2006. Nicole and Keith have since then settled down in Nashville where they raise their two daughters, Sunday, 10, and Faith 8.
