Melanie Griffith Shares Glimpse Inside Daughter Stella and Boyfriend Eli’s Date Night at the Oscars
Proud mama! Melanie Griffith may have not been in attendance at the 2020 Oscars on Sunday, February 9, but she couldn’t have been happier to watch daughter Stella Banderas walk the red carpet alongside her dad, Antonio Banderas. Ahead of the 92nd annual Academy Awards, the Working Girl star shared a sweet photo of her 23-year-old daughter and her boyfriend, Eli Meyer.
“My beautiful Stella with her love, Eli,” the 62-year-old beauty gushed in the caption alongside a snapshot of the young couple. Melanie also gave a sweet shout-out to the Mask of Zorro actor at the end of her post. “And of course, @antoniobanderasoficial,” she adorably added.
In the pic, Stella and Eli can be seen lovingly staring into each other’s eyes before going in for a sweet smooch. The brunette beauty looked radiant in a red and black gown that featured a deep V-neckline and sexy straps, while her handsome date sported a black tuxedo.
Fans of the Milk Money actress — who tied the knot with Antonio, 59, in 1996, but sadly divorced in 2015 — marveled over the couple’s fun-filled night out in the comments section of her post. “Beautiful beyond words,” one Instagram user wrote, while another echoed, “This is too much! Stella is the most beautiful person there.” A third fan chimed in, commenting, “Special time for the family. Stella [is] always beautiful and elegant. Lovely couple.”
About the same time the Golden Globe winner — who is also the proud mom of son Alexander Bauer, 34, and daughter Dakota Johnson, 30, from previous marriages — shared a glimpse inside her mini-me’s date night out at the prestigious awards show, Stella arrived with her famous father and his girlfriend, Nicole Kimpel.
The Pain and Glory actor was all smiles as he walked the red carpet with his only daughter. Although Antonio was beaten by Joaquin Phoenix for the award for Best Actor, we bet the up-and-coming actress couldn’t have been more proud to watch her dad live out his dream of an accomplished Hollywood star.
Considering her kids are all grown up, Melanie can’t believe how independent they’ve become. A source close to the Lolita star recently revealed how she’s become the perfect blend of being supportive while also letting her three kids grow up to be their own person.
“She is truly proud of her kids, but she lets them live their own lives, make their own mistakes,” an insider exclusively shared with Closer Weekly in December 2019, noting “hovering” over her children is simply not her style.
