Meghan Markle Reportedly Wants to Strengthen Her Royal Relationship With Sister-in-Law Kate Middleton

Her life completely changed when she moved to London and married Prince Harry during their May 2018 royal wedding. So with a schedule filled with royal appearances and tours, it wasn’t surprising when Meghan Markle jet-set to New York City earlier this week to celebrate her lavish baby shower and spend some well-deserved time off with her closest pals.

After gallivanting around the Big Apple for a few days with those in her inner circle — including stylist Jessica Mulroney, Serena Williams, former Suits costar Abigail Spencer and more — Meg’s return to London is bittersweet for the 37-year-old who reportedly feels she’s lacking “a group of moms in London to lean on,” a source recently told Us Weekly. And because of that, Meg is apparently hoping to strengthen her relationship with her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, following her return to Kensington Palace. “It’s not bad by any means,” the source said of their relationship, “but they want to make it stronger.”

With tons of rumors recently circulating about an alleged feud between the two duchesses, royal fans and admirers were sad when Kate was clearly absent from Meg’s New York City baby bash. However, Good Housekeeping reported that the Duchess of Cambridge, 37, apparently didn’t show up because the star-studded shower was supposedly meant for friends that Meghan doesn’t get to see very often. Plus, the mother-of-three has also been spending quality time with her children this week as Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 3, are both on their half-term break and won’t be returning to school until Monday, February, 25.

Even though we wish Kate could’ve been there for Meg, just keep in mind that not only was the former Suits actress’ BFF Priyanka Chopra not in attendance, but neither was her mom, Doria Ragland! Plus, Meghan is reportedly having yet another baby shower in England — which would be both shocking and exciting considering royal family members don’t typically have baby showers. Stay tuned!
