According to Daily Star, the Duchess of Sussex, 37, has hired a team of 20 doctors to help welcome the couple’s future son or daughter into this world. The secret team was reportedly subjected to rigorous interviews and will be on call 24/7 to help with any of the royal’s requests. “Meghan will have a huge team to make sure that all the bases are covered should anything go wrong. Everyone has been vetted in advance and sworn to secrecy,” a source told the news outlet.
The staff includes two obstetricians, three midwives, three anesthetists, four surgical staff, two special care baby-unit staff, four pediatricians, one lab technician, and three or four managers, Daily Star reported.
Like her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, and her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, Meghan is expected to give birth in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in West London. Yes, Harry’s baby will be born where his or her daddy was born 34 years earlier! How cute?
To no surprise, Meg will be pampered when she stays at the Lindo Wing next spring when their bundle of joy is due (even though she reportedly wants to deliver the little one in LA). “The Lindo Wing offers private ensuite rooms, providing a modern, homely environment in which to start your new or expanded family life,” St. Mary’s official website explains. “Our consultants, midwives, and support staff have the expertise and experience to support you through any pregnancy and delivery — from straightforward births to complex and multiple deliveries.”
Daily Star adds that each room has satellite TV, radio, a bedside phone, fridge, free wi-fi, and a choice of daily newspapers. But who needs electronics and access to world news when there’s daily afternoon tea for the new parents? Cheers to that!
