This is so exciting! Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon got back together for dinner — and it looks like it might be for good.
The couple, who called it quits in 2016 after eight years of marriage, dined together at Beverly Hills hot spot Mr. Chow on Thursday night, and Nick, 36, dropped a bombshell about their relationship.

“We’ve always been official,” he told TMZ after being asked if he was back with Mariah, who just split with boyfriend and backup dancer Bryan Tanaka.
While Nick seemingly confirmed he was ready to give it another try, the couple has always been close for the sake of their five-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.

“You put the kids first,” Nick told Us Weekly, “but then when you understand that you have unconditional love for these human beings and you want the best existence for them, then you put whatever differences you may have had aside.”
He continued, “A lot of times when you think about breakups in relationships, it’s usually over ego. And if you can remove your ego from that, and make it about your loved ones, then that’s what it’s about.”
Nick recently welcomed a baby boy with former fling Brittany Bell — but made it clear he was not dating the former pageant queen.
He clarified that his “ex Mariah is my last ‘ex.’ Everybody else is people that I’ve known, loved and cared for.”
As for Mariah, she just revealed that she is working on a new studio album to be released this year. “I’m thrilled to be working on new music. Hope you’re as excited as I am,” she shared on Instagram.
