Meryl Streep’s Daughter Mamie Gummer Makes a Rare Appearance With Son in NYC

Talk about a rare sighting! Meryl Streep‘s daughter Mamie Gummer was spotted out in New York City’s West Village neighborhood with her baby boy right before Christmas Eve. The 36-year-old actress gently carried her kid in her arms while a few people helped her load items into her car.

It’s possible that Mamie was on her way to celebrate Christmas with her mom and her siblings — Henry, 40, Grace, 33, and Louisa, 28. Who knows? Meryl, 70, might have bought her grandson a bunch of presents for the holiday. After all, she did gift him a ton of gifts soon after he was born earlier this year.

“Meryl is over the moon,” an insider told Closer Weekly at the time. “She has been buying tons of adorable baby clothes and toys. She’s into organic food, so she’s getting nontoxic toys and sustainable, healthy products right down to the sheets and blankets — she’s been researching voraciously, like when she does research for a part, about what’s best for Mamie and the baby.”

As a mom of four, Meryl has learned all the best tips and tricks about raising children. She’s become a pro at managing her life at home, her love life with longtime husband Don Gummer and her career. “Motherhood and marriage is a balancing act, especially when you have a job that you consider rewarding. It’s a challenge, but the best kind of challenge,” she previously told Good Housekeeping.

As for Mamie, she’s been learning a lot from her mother every day. The Devil Wears Prada star always puts her family before fame and that motivates her to work even harder on set. “Every single decision I make about what material I do, what I’m putting out in the world, is because of my children,” she once said.
