Kate Winslet Looks Unrecognizable on the Set of Her New Movie ‘Ammonite’ — Check out the Pics!

She’s been laying low in Hollywood lately, so when fans got a glimpse of Kate Winslet on the set of her new movie Ammonite, they had to do a double take! However, it’s not because we forgot how beautiful the Titanic star is — it’s because she looks nearly unrecognizable without her famous blonde locks!

The 43-year-old was seen getting into character as she stepped out in a dirt-covered ensemble to film some scenes for the romance movie that goes back in time to 1840s England. Starring alongside her lesbian love interest, Saoirse Ronan, the film is inspired by the life of fossil hunter Mary Anning, who is credited with making key scientific discoveries in the Jurassic marine fossil beds in the cliffs along the English Channel. 

Although she’s been keeping quiet around Hollywood, Kate is one of the most beloved actors of her generation. She’s starred in hit movies such as Revolutionary Road, The Holiday and, of course, Titanic. However, before even seeing her name in lights, the blonde beauty was told she would only ever play “cute, fat best friend” roles in movies.

“[When I was 13, I was told] by a drama teacher that if I continued to be overweight I would really only get a chance to play the cute, fat best friend role or the ugly sister parts,” she once said. “I remember thinking, ‘Oh, you’re so wrong!’ That kind of spurred me on.”
