Kate Middleton Packs Good Luck Charms in Her Hospital Bag for Third Baby’s Arrival
With Kate Middleton‘s due date apparently just a matter of days away, royal baby watch is in full swing, with the world’s eyes trained on the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, where the Duchess previously gave birth to her two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
According to a new report from OK!, Kate has already packed her hospital bag with a handful of luxuries and good luck charms to make her feel more at home during her stay on the state of the art maternity ward, which sets expectant mothers back a minimum of $8,435 per night.
A source told the magazine that Kate will bring a handful of trinkets with sentimental value, including a 19th century alabaster cameo pendant that was given to her by Queen Elizabeth, and some black onyx beads belonging to her mother, Carole Middleton.
She will also reportedly pack three framed family photos, including one with the Middleton family and one with the Queen. Prince George and Princess Charlotte have lent their mom a handful of their favorite toys to keep her company, while Prince William has reportedly given his wife one of her favorite aromatherapy kits, scented with Madagascan vanilla.
According to OK!‘s source, the Duchess has loaded up her Kindle with “the latest Booker prize winners,” though a selection of newspapers and complimentary wifi are available on the maternity ward. A deluxe package at the Lindo Wing, intended for “patients who would like to take advantage of a larger space,” costs $8,970 and includes gourmet three-course meals cooked by the in-house chef.

News of the birth of the Duke and Duchess’ third child will be first announced on the royal family’s official social media channels, before the traditional paper announcement is placed on an easel outside Buckingham Palace, confirming the baby’s sex and the time of birth.
