Well, that’s unfortunate! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s first baby will arrive in the spring, so we can all expect to learn the child’s gender, their name and, hopefully, who the little tot’s godparents are. But one thing that may surprise you about the latter is that Baby Sussex’s godmother probably won’t be his or her royal aunt, Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Sussex, 37, and Duchess of Cambridge, also 37, have been in a rumored feud for quite some time now, but that actually has nothing to do with the possibility that Prince William‘s wife probably won’t be given the special honor of being godmother to Harry and Meghan’s first child. In fact, it’s all about tradition, as siblings and their significant others are never chosen to hold that title. Even Harry, 34, isn’t a godfather to his brother’s kids: Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 8 months. Royal correspondent Robert Jobson explained when baby George was being christened back in October 2013 that Harry “will have a role in [the baby’s] life anyway” so he didn’t really need to be named his godfather.

Then again, Meghan is already known for apparently shaking things up in the royal household, so there’s always the chance that she pulls a 180 on everyone and names Kate the godmother of her child, although it’s tough to see that occurring. So if not Kate, then who do the Suits alum and her husband have in mind to be godparents? The choice that may shock everyone is George George and Amal Clooney. The pair was at Harry and Meg’s wedding, they are another power duo and the royal couple is reportedly considering hiring their former celebrity nanny for their royal baby. Other godparent options may include William’s cousin Zara Tindall or even Kate’s cousins Adam and Lucy Middleton.

Well, regardless of who is chosen, William and Kate can still expect to spend lots of time with the royal baby at Frogmore Cottage, as it was revealed that Meghan and Harry will be raising their child there since it is a “safe, secure and delightful location.”
