Fans were heartbroken when Jesse Metcalf and the cast of Desperate Housewives said goodbye to the beloved TV show in May 2012. But DH-lovers have a reason to get excited again because Jesse, 40, just revealed in a new interview that he’d be totally up for a reboot of the mystery comedy-drama!

When recently asked by Us Weekly if he’d be interested in playing character John Rowland on the small screen again, Jesse replied, “100 percent!” And he even has plans for what Eva Longoria‘s character Gabrielle Solis’ former lover would be up to today.

“I would probably leave that up to whoever decides to write this reboot or film. If it’s [creator] Marc [Cherry], I’m sure he has better ideas than me,” the John Tucker Must Die star explained. “But I would hope to come back with a little money in my pocket.” Jesse also revealed that he still keeps in touch with some of his former Desperate Housewives costars. The stud said he often runs into Eva, 43, and occasionally sees Teri Hatcher, who played Susan Mayer.

While exclusively chatting with Closer Weekly in a 2018 interview, Eva also gushed about the possibility of a DH reboot in the future and said she’d love for it to happen. “I would play Gaby again in a heartbeat, [but] our showrunner doesn’t want to do it, the creator,” she said. In another interview from a year earlier, she similarly said, “I wish! I love that show. I miss it every single day. I miss being Gaby. I miss being on that set. I miss everything about it.”

As for what Gaby might be up to today, Eva once said she thinks her beloved Wisteria Lane character would be “ruling the world” now and “starting a fashion empire.” We seriously hope we get to see both Jesse and Eva back on the small screen with a Desperate Housewives reboot sometime soon!
