Even though they’re not together anymore, Ben and Jen didn’t let their divorce ruin the relationship they have with their kids, Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, 7. “I’m lucky [my kids have] got a great mom, and she helps out a great deal with making sure we coparent in as good a way as possible,” Ben previously gushed on the Today show, and added that “she’s wonderful!”

“Somebody’s the mother of your kids, they’re going to be the most important, central part of your life, and that’s good,” he also said about his relationship with Jen. It looks like Jen was right when she said that her family is “a lot like most families.”

You don’t have to tell Ben how important it is to be there for your kids because he always tries to be the best dad that he can be for his children. “Dads are so important to kids, and it’s our responsibility to be there for them, and to be present, to be mindful, to be attentive, to be part of their lives, to be as in it as moms,” he said. “That’s really the central preoccupation in my life. It’s what makes me happy and the rest of the stuff kind of follows.”

While recently talking to her Camping costar David Tennant on his podcast, Jen revealed that her kids find it funny how fans approach her and Ben on the street. “[My children] have said in the past that when people see their dad they’re in awe. He’s 6ft 4in, he’s larger than life, he’s Batman,” she explained. “[But] when people see me they just want to come up and talk.”

But Jen doesn’t mind that fans get more starstruck when they see her ex. “He’s won two Oscars,” she gushed. “He’s so powerful in that way, such a powerful presence and person.”
