Grey's Anatomy fans were stoked when the show's star Ellen Pompeo gave them a sneak-peek at her life on set. In the series of Instagram clips on Thursday, March 2, the 47-year-old actress gave a detailed behind-the-scenes look at the popular medical drama!
"Happy Grey's Day! #TGIT #BootsOnTheGround #WeLoveMakingThisShowForYouGuys @ShondaRhimes @TheRealDebbieAllen video by @HellmannSam," she captioned the entertaining segment, which featured the tune "Hypnotize" by The Notorious B.I.G.
Ellen has portrayed Dr. Meredith Grey on the hit series from 2005 until 2017, and now even helps direct and produce some of the episodes you watch on Thursday nights!
However, after the mom-of-three's social media tease, viewers were bummed that the show didn't subsequently air that night!
Thankfully, it wasn't a TV glitch — the hit show was just having a bye week! Instead of Grey's, ABC showed two hours of the network's new docudrama miniseries, When We Rise. The show — which includes eight episodes total — will conclude on Friday, March 3.
Ellen has been opening up about the show a lot recently! In a previous, candid interview, she finally gave fans some insight on the suspected romance between her character and Justin Chambers' character, Alex Karev.
"Justin is one of my favorite people on the planet," the actress said. "We're really close, and it does feel weird. To potentially maybe have him as a love interest would be like kissing my brother. I used to say that about [Patrick Dempsey] all the time too because just we'd been together for so long." Justin has also been on the show since its first season in 2005.
"The love interest part is not my favorite piece of this, I'll be honest," she added. "Kissing guys that aren't your husband is, you know, a little weird. I guess it wouldn't be if you didn't like your husband, but I happen to be very, very fond of mine."
