Worlds collide! Greased lightning struck this weekend as Grease star Olivia Newton-John hung out with Grease 2 star Michelle Pfeiffer on Saturday, January 25, at the G’Day USA: Standing Together event in Beverly Hills.

“So lovely seeing you Michelle!! Xoxo #PinkLadyPower @michellepfeifferofficial @gdayusa,” Olivia, 71, wrote. Michelle, 61, returned the favor by writing: “Look who I ran into last night – the original Pink Lady 💗💗 @therealonj. What an incredible night for an incredible cause. @gdayusa.” Both shared the same adorable snap with their posts.

For those of you not hip to all things Grease, Olivia played Sandy in the 1978 original film while Michelle played Stephanie in the 1982 movie sequel. While both women played leading ladies, their male costars were different — with John Travolta being a dynamic duo with Olivia and Maxwell Caulfield joining Michelle. The original is considered an instant classic while the sequel has garnered more of a cult following throughout the years.

While we aren’t surprised Olivia and Michelle are friendly, that doesn’t mean the Aussie actress enjoyed what happened with the follow-up to the movie that made her a household name. Back in 2016, Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen asked what she honestly thought about the follow-up film.

“Not a lot,” Olivia — who is battling cancer for a third time — replied with a laugh. “Actually, I kind of remember they did ask us, I think they approached John and I to do it, and then it didn’t happen and I didn’t think it was going to happen. Then they made it with other people, so that’s my memory of it.”

That said, Olivia has nothing but love for John, 65! “He’s a lovely guy. He’s a very loving father, he’s a great husband and he’s a wonderful actor,” Olivia recently gushed to Closer Weekly. “In fact, I saw him in a movie the other day that I didn’t even know existed, and he was so good. It was a Western, In a Valley of Violence. He’s a great actor.”

We’ve seen a resurgence in Grease love lately, with a prequel movie announced and a spin-off series based on the film set for HBO Max. That plus the fact that Olivia and John reunited at a special screening have really brought back some fond memories and proved that we’re hopelessly devoted to this franchise!
