Family Ties was one of the most beloved sitcoms of the 1980s. It brought laughs, warmth and tenderness, in addition to making a superstar of Michael J. Fox.
The show ran for seven seasons on NBC between 1982 and 1987, focusing on a family run by parents who were former hippies dealing with their conservative son Alex, played by Michael, and two daughters. Micheal and Elyse Keaton added another son to their family in season 3 to accommodate actress Meredith Baxter‘s real-life pregnancy.
