She’s made dozens of memorable films and has reeled in plenty of accolades, but Angelina Jolie has always been interested in philanthropy, and she will continue to spread her message as the newest contributing editor for Time magazine.

On Wednesday, June 19, the outlet announced that the 43-year-old will be writing a piece every month for them, focusing primarily on “displacement, conflict and human rights.” The Oscar winner has plenty of knowledge to draw from too, as she has spent “eighteen years working with the UN Refugee Agency, and she is the Special Envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees,” says editor in chief and CEO of Time, Edward Felsenthal.

Edward adds that Angelina has also “carried out over 60 field missions to refugees, including most recently in Colombia, Peru and Bangladesh.” In fact, Angelina has already published her first essay with the platform, titled, “Angelina Jolie: What We Owe Refugees,” in honor of World Refugee Day.

“Everyone deserves dignity and fair treatment, but we need to be clear about the distinction,” the A-lister writes in part in the piece. “Under international law it is not an option to assist refugees, it is an obligation. It is perfectly possible to ensure strong border control and fair, humane immigration policies while meeting our responsibility to help refugees.”

The writing will be appear in the magazine’s July 1 issue.

The mother-of-six has always been about helping those in need — she has even considered a career in politics. Presenter Justin Webb once asked the mega-star, “Are you moving in the direction of politics?” to which Angelina replied, “If you asked me 20 years ago, I would’ve laughed … I always say I’ll go where I’m needed, I don’t know if I’m fit for politics … but then I’ve also joked that I don’t know if I have a skeleton left in my closet.”

“I’m also able to work with governments and I’m also able to work with militaries, and so I sit in a very interesting place of being able to get a lot done,” the Maleficent star shared with BBC’s Today Programme.

We can’t wait to see what else is in Angelina’s future!
