He may be one of the busiest guys out there at the moment, but Andy Cohen has still found a way to balance his career with his new job of of being a father to his son named Benjamin.

“I just take it day-to-day and I only say yes to things that I’m passionate about and I want to do,” the 51-year-old told Us Weekly on Tuesday, July 23, while promoting his Purina partnership. “I was turning down [opportunities]. They were like, ‘Do you want to present an award at the Billboard Awards,’ I’m like, ‘Yes! But I can’t go to Vegas for 24 hours.’ I would’ve in the past.” However, the Watch What Happens Live host sometimes takes his only child to work, especially since he is so well behaved.

“Ben’s personality is really sweet,” the TV personality said. “He scopes out the room and he scopes out the situation before he commits and gives you his all, which is different from me. I walk in and I’m like, ‘Hey, everybody!’” He added, “He’s really mellow though. You can pass him around to everybody and he’ll hang out. But he waits a little bit before he gives you his full smile.”

Andy welcomed his son via surrogate on February 5, 2019. “I worked with an incredible surrogate. She was in California. Surrogacy is illegal in so many states, including New York. I don’t understand why. It’s a voluntary process, obviously,” the Love Connection alum once told People. “My surrogate just viewed it as, she was giving me the ultimate gift. She gave me life. So I’ll be forever indebted to her.”

As for the day his baby boy arrived, Andy said he was quite surprised by what he saw. “I was in the delivery room. I had been hoping that he would have a full head of hair, and he really over-delivered,” he joked. “That was the first thing you see, the head of hair coming out. And I was amazed.”

He added, “He was so alert for the first two hours. His eyes were wide open. He didn’t cry; he was just calm. I kind of have no words for it.” Andy also recently told Wendy Williams on her show just how much his boy means to him.

“Family has always been incredibly important to me … I just thought this [having a baby] is in my future and now this is the last exit to doing this, so I did it,” he explained to the TV host, 55. How sweet!
