According to multiple reports, Simon Cowell's London home was burglarized during the early morning of Saturday, Dec. 2 while his girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, and their nearly two-year-old son, Eric, were asleep inside.

Two burglars allegedly entered the 56-year-old TV star's $5 million abode at approximately 2:00 am to steal assorted jewelry and cash. Though one of Simon's security guards immediately called the police, the perpetrators had reportedly already fled the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.
“It was clearly a very traumatic incident. Simon is just relieved that his family was safe and all right. Their safety is his number one priority," a source told the UK's Mirror.

Following the scary incident, The X-Factor judge allegedly fired one of his two at-home security guards as the employee was using the bathroom at the time of the burglary. According to an insider, Simon now "no longer believes that the staff member should be responsible for protecting his family."
Unfortunately, this is not the first time Simon's property has been robbed; in March 2012, a stalker allegedly broke into his West London home and hid in the star's wardrobe while attempting to steal a variety of the former American Idol judges personal items.
