He can’t wait to make it official! Shark Tank star Daymond John has got his sights set on his latest bold venture — helping fiancée Heather Taras throw their dream wedding. “We are planning,” he exclusively told Closer Weekly at the Resident magazine cover party for Daymond and his new NYC co-working space, blueprint + co.
The millionaire businessman, who is the founder and CEO of the FUBU clothing empire, revealed that he and Heather, 33, had to reconsider their original destination wedding arrangements after the devastation caused by this year’s hurricanes. “We had to switch things around [because of what] happened in the Caribbean,” explained Daymond, 48. “We want it to be in a tropical place [with a] super small [guest list].”

Daymond’s exciting nuptial news comes months after he opened up to In Touch about overcoming his battle with Stage 2 thyroid cancer. Nearly a year after his initial diagnosis, the entrepreneur — who shares 19-month-old daughter Minka with Heather — said he was finally full of life again after revealing he was “100 percent cancer-free.”
“[I wanted] to make people aware of early detection,” Daymond said at the time, explaining why he decided to go public with his personal health crisis. “Get that checkup, Pap smear, mammogram, colonoscopy.”
The investor added that he is more grateful than ever after his experience with cancer — especially since his story seemed to resonate with fans. “Mark Twain said the two most important days in your life are the day you’re born and the day you find out why,” he shared. "I’ve gotten thousands of messages from people who are now checking into [their health] and taking care of themselves. I think in a crazy way, that’s why I’m here.”
