Now that Meghan Markle is the Duchess of Sussex, she said goodbye to her role of Rachel Zane on the hit USA series Suits. But now fans are questioning if the royal will be coming back for Season 8 after reports have surfaced that she’s being offered millions to make a cameo.

According to Daily Star, executives at USA want Meghan, 37, to come back for at least two minutes on the series in return for money she could use for a charity of her choice.

“We could be done in half a day or less,” a source said of the filming. They added, “No final figure has yet been arrived at but negotiations are likely to be opened in the very near future. I’ve heard sums ranging from two to six million being kicked around, and that sounds a lot — but it would be one of the biggest marketing coups in TV history.”

Meghan’s character, Rachel, married her law firm partner Mike Ross, who was played by her friend Patrick J. Adams, her final episode of the series last April. He left the show the same time as Meghan.

The Daily Star source dished on what the storyline would be if Meghan decided to make a cameo. “We could create a storyline where Rachel and Mike have created new lives for themselves and are starting a family, with Rachel showing an obvious baby bump,” the insider said. “I believe we could get away with only one or two lines from Rachel, perhaps saying how she would never have believed she would have such a wonderful life. This particular route would beautifully mirror real life.”

A former Suits colleague of Meghan’s also shared with the news outlet: “This is all supposed to be hush, hush but it’s a bit of an open secret that they’d do anything to get her and Patrick back as guest stars.”

Meghan’s cameo would benefit everyone all around. The insider added, “It would give one or several charities a big boost, portray Meghan as a thoroughly modern royal — and give us one of the biggest ratings blockbusters of our existence.”

But we’re not counting on Meghan taking the offer. During her first official engagement interview with Harry, she opened up about leaving Suits behind. “I think what’s been so exciting [transitioning] out of my career and into, as you said, the causes I can focus even more energy on, very early out of the gate, [is that you] have a voice that people listen to, a lot of responsibility,” she said in November 2017.

She continued, “I see it is a new change, a new chapter. I’ve been working on my show seven years, we were so fortunate to have that longevity, and I feel like I checked that box and am very proud of the work I’ve done there.”

Closer Weekly reached out to USA on this matter, but they declined to comment.
