On April 22, 2019, the 37-year-old shared the excited news that she is adding another member to her family — to go along with her two daughters, Margaret, 6, and Poppy, 3. “I’m only telling because Mila and Poppy found out yesterday in their Easter baskets,” Jenna explained on the popular NBC news show. “They told the man behind me on the airplane, they told the people at church.” At the time, George W. Bush‘s daughter told guest cohost Meredith Vieira that she is about five and a half months pregnant — which sets up for a late summer birth! Perhaps August?
The news broadcaster has already revealed that her third child will be a boy, and her father is all for it. “My dad keeps joking that we need to name him George,” Jenna told People recently, before revealing she doesn’t know what she will be calling her newborn yet. “We had two girls. That’s all [my dad has] ever known. It’ll be nice for him to have a little fishing buddy as well.”
Jenna isn’t the only face on Today that has shared some baby news this year — Hoda Kotb also welcomed a new adopted daughter into her family, and she was of course so happy for her pal. “Jenna, first of all, you’re amazing,” the 54-year-old said upon learning about her friend’s soon-to-be here baby. “When you told me that you were pregnant, I still remember because … we were wondering about adoption issues, but listening to you, I was praying. You said, ‘Oh, Hoda, I feel so bad.’ I said, ‘Please don’t!’ I was literally kind of holding onto a little secret and look at us, now it’s all out in the open.”
Even though Jenna felt some guilt telling Hoda about her pregnancy, her mother, Laura Bush, put her at ease. “I said, [her sister] ‘Barbara’ — who just got married — ‘and Hoda, they want these babies, and I have this guilt,’” Jenna said. “And my mom said, ‘Everybody gets their babies when they’re supposed to.’ My mom and her mom before her struggled with infertility forever, and so I thought that was a beautiful thing to say.”
We can’t wait for the newest baby to arrive!
