When Jenna Bush Hager revealed she was pregnant with baby No. 3 during the April 22 episode of Today, her cohost, Hoda Kotb, already knew. “Oh my God, I’m so happy!” Hoda, 54, gushed to Jenna, 37, at the time.

“Well, we miss you,” Jenna replied Hoda, who is currently on leave so she can celebrate her new baby, Hope Catherine Kotb. “You know what that newborn baby fog is like. So I can’t wait, even though I’m a little scared.”

Since Jenna is already mom to two amazing kids — daughters Margaret, 6, and Poppy, 3 — Hoda ensured her that she has nothing to worry about.

“Jenna, first of all, you’re amazing,” Hoda said. “When you told me that you were pregnant, I still remember because … we were wondering about adoption issues, but listening to you, I was praying. You said, ‘Oh, Hoda, I feel so bad.’ I said, ‘Please don’t!’ I was literally kind of holding onto a little secret and look at us, now it’s all out in the open.”

Jenna explained that there was some guilt on her part when telling Hoda she was pregnant — especially since her friend has struggled with infertility in the past. “When I had that conversation with Hoda, because I knew she wanted this baby, I called my mom,” Jenna recalled.

During the conversation, Jenna remembered telling her mom that sister Barbara Pierce Bush reminded her a lot of Hoda because they both have been trying to get pregnant. “I said, ‘Barbara’ — who just got married — ‘and Hoda, they want these babies, and I have this guilt,'” she shared. “And my mom said, ‘Everybody gets their babies when they’re supposed to.'”

Jenna’s conversation with her mom made her feel a lot better. “I don’t take this lightly. I know how blessed and lucky I am,” she admitted. “It’s an amazing gift. So Hoda, thank you for your love and happiness and support — and give that baby a kiss.”
