After undergoing a double mastectomy on Tuesday (May 20) to treat breast cancer, former Dancing with the Stars co-host, Samantha Harris, shared this emotional photo of her before surgery.

"Made it thru grueling double mastectomy #surgery. Thanks to all of my amazing surgical team. Like my "art" b4 heading in?!" the 40-year-old captioned the photo, the "art" referring to the surgical markings on her chest.
Following a routine mammogram last year in which she received the all clear, the mom-of-two still didn't feel right, and went to see a specialist who found a lump in her right breast.
"It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest," Samantha said of hearing the news.
Luckily, the former ET correspondent has since been receiving incredible support from husband Michael Hess and stars such as Giuliana Rancic, who successfully underwent a double mastectomy of her own in 2011.
"Giuliana and all of the women that I have come to talk to that are survivors have been tremendously supportive and generous and have guided me on this very scary and rocky road," Samantha told E! News.
The brunette beauty previously said she wanted to make sure she was around to see daughters Hillary and Josselyn walk down the aisle. "I will be here to plan my daughters weddings and they better like the dress I pick," she joked.
