Reese Witherspoon Shows Off Mom Dance Moves in First-Ever TikTok Video With Help From Son Deacon
When it comes to moms, Reese Witherspoon is about as cool as they come. The Big Little Lies actress took to Instagram over the weekend to share a video in which she learns all about a new social media app.
“Deacon, this is very important. I’ve brought you here because I have questions for you,” the 43-year-old asks son Deacon Phillippe at the beginning of the LOL-worthy clip. “It’s about TikTok. What is TikTok?”
The teen, who is almost 16, explained that it is a “short-form video platform” on which people upload clips of themselves set to popular songs. What the person do while the tune is playing is entirely up to them.
While Reese is already a huge personality on social media, she asked her son if she should join TikTok. He reluctantly agreed to help her create her very first post — but not before she showed off some dance moves.
“You two together—🤩🤩,” pal Jennifer Garner commented. “I’ve watched this nine times. You are so funny. I can’t believe how polite your son is,” Reese’s A Wrinkle in Time costar Mindy Kaling chimed in with. “This is so good. Please teach me how to raise such well behaved kids,” Today‘s Jenna Bush Hager added.
Though it seems like it took a little while for Reese to get the hang of it, we have to admit we’re impressed with the Oscar winner’s ability to groove. Plus, she totally nailed it with her TikTok debut, if you ask us.
While Reese is tight with all three of her kids — including daughter Ava Phillippe, 20, and son Tennessee Toth, 7 — it seems as though she is connecting with Deacon a lot more lately. Perhaps that’s because he is growing up so fast and already beginning to drive — and doing a pretty good job at it too.
“Oh, God. God help us all,” Reese joked during a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “He’s a good driver. He’s actually a better driver than I am. I get distracted a lot because I see cute dogs.”
“I’m like, ‘Oh, I’ve got to pull over!’ I will literally pull over and get out of the car if it’s a bulldog. Only a bulldog. I’m very preferential to certain breeds … if it’s being walked by somebody and it’s really cute,” the Legally Blonde actress added. “There’s probably a lot of pictures in the world of me on the side of the road with dogs.”
Given Reese’s penchant for pups, it’s no surprise the family’s new member, a bulldog named Lou, stars in the TikTok video.
