Princess Charlotte Is Reportedly Following In Prince George’s Footsteps As She Begins Weekly Ballet Lessons
Having a passion for dance must run in the royal family! Princess Charlotte is reportedly following in Prince George‘s footsteps and is taking ballet lessons at a dance school in South London, People has revealed.
Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s three-year-old daughter allegedly began weekly dance lessons at the school several months ago. It looks like her brother George, 5, will now have a dance partner since he’s studying ballet as part of his first-year curriculum at Thomas’s Battersea school in London.
Charlotte wanting to take dance lessons doesn’t come as a surprise considering her dad, William, 36, has gushed about how much the little princess enjoys busting a move. “My daughter Charlotte loves dancing,” the Duke of Cambridge told attendees at a Commonwealth reception back in March. William also revealed that dancing is one of his oldest child’s passions. “George is doing dancing as well,” the dad-of-three said at a Kensington Palace reception for inspirational teens in October. “He loves it.”
Perhaps the royal kiddos got their dancing feet from their late grandmother, Princess Diana. The beloved princess reportedly used to enjoy attending shows at the Royal Opera House. In fact, Diana even performed a secret dance duet with the famed Wayne Sleep. As a surprise for her then-husband, Prince Charles, Di once boogied on-stage with the ballet dancer to Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl.”
“My mother always used to dance, she loved dancing,” William told a dancer and anti-bullying campaigner at a Kensington Place event on Oct. 19. “If it’s something you love, you do what you love. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Keep at it.”
It’s adorable to see how much William and Kate support their kids’ passions. In fact, earlier this month, the Duchess, 36, apparently took Charlotte to see a pre-rehearsal performance of The Nutcracker.
“She looked so excited to be there and sat very still, watching the show,” an onlooker told People. “They were the only ones in the audience. It was very sweet.” We can’t imagine how happy this made Charlotte, especially since the toddler even reportedly got the chance to meet some dancers after the show. So cute!
