This may have been a royal mistake, but we’re so grateful for it! Eagle-eyed writers over at Cosmopolitan magazine just realized that Queen Elizabeth revealed a previously unseen photo of Prince George and Princess Charlotte while viewing her regal new portrait at Windsor Castle on Nov. 30.
In photos taken of the 92-year-old Queen checking out her latest portrait, a framed snapshot of Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, 97, posing with five of their royal great-grandchildren can be seen sitting on a table in the background. Check out the sneaky pic below!
According to Cosmo, George, 5, and Charlotte, 3, are pictured with other royal tots Savannah Phillips, Isla Phillips, and Mia Tindall, in the cute family snapshot. Sisters Savannah, 7, and Isla, 6, are the daughters of the Queen and Prince Philip’s eldest grandson, Peter Phillips, and his wife, Autumn Phillips. Mia, 4, is the oldest daughter of the Queen’s granddaughter (and Peter’s younger sister) Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike Tindall.
Though we don’t know too much more about the previously unseen framed photo in the Queen’s Windsor, England home, we can guess that the pic was taken a few years ago since Charlotte looks pretty young in the image. And since Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip recently welcomed two more great-grandchildren into their royal family, we’re sure they would have included them in the photo if it was new, too!
The Queen and her husband are new great-grandparents to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s youngest son, Prince Louis, 7 months, and Zara and Mike’s second daughter, Lena Tindall, 5 months. And the royal couple is gearing up to welcome their eighth great-grandchild, Baby Sussex, next spring now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child. It’s so exciting that the British royal family just keeps growing and growing!
