Not only did royal fans get to see Meghan Markle‘s post-baby debut at Trooping the Colour, they got to see Prince Louis make his balcony debut!

Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s youngest child, 1, joined his older siblings, Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 4, as well as other members of the royal family at the big event to celebrate Queen Elizabeth‘s birthday.

Little Lou was all smiles on the balcony, as he wore a blue and white outfit and waved at the crowd below. In fact, it looked like waving was his favorite part. Louis even eagerly pointed at planes in the sky while in his mother’s arms!

It has been quite the past few weeks for Louis — most recently, he celebrated turning 1. In honor of his special day, Kensington Palace shared some new adorable portraits of the young royal.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share these new photographs of Prince Louis ahead of his first birthday tomorrow,” Kensington Palace’s Instagram caption read. “The photographs were taken earlier this month by The Duchess at their home in Norfolk.”

In one of the pics, Louis showed off the few teeth he has as he smiled big for the camera. He even wore an adorable burgundy sweater on top of a white collared shirt and tied the look together with black dress pants.

Meghan and Prince Harry even sent along some birthday wishes. “Happy Birthday Louis! Sending lots of love from both of us xo,” the pair commented in the Kensington Palace post. They also added a birthday cake and balloon emoji.

He may only be 1, but Louis is growing fast! “I turned around the other day and he was at the top of the slide — I had no idea!” his mom recently gushed during a royal outing to a World War II code-breaking center in London, according to People. “[He’s] keeping us on our toes.”

While we know him as Louis, his brother and sister have quite the nickname for him: “Lou Lou,” according to Life & Style.

“Louis has already developed his own little personality. He’s very chill and relaxed,” an insider told the outlet. “But he’s also strong natured. When he doesn’t get his way, everyone knows about it!”
