Sure, there may be some negative stories coming out about the royal family at the moment, but that doesn’t mean that there can’t be some positivity pouring out of the royals too. And leave it to Kate Middleton and Prince William to bring forth some of that positivity. Even if it does involve Kate scolding the Duke of Cambridge.

William and Kate recently wrapped up their visit to Cyprus where they took time to spread some holiday cheer to military families who unfortunately will be away from home this Christmas. Kate and William also officially opened the Oasis recreation center. While there, William happened to catch some bright yellow couches in the room, which made William joke to “keep the pizza off the sofas.” Since the dad-joke radar went off, Kate decided to playfully tease her husband by saying, “You’re a nightmare with that!” Now we’re going to assume that William eats his pizza over the sink.

Oasis is extremely important as it is a space that will allow soldiers to make private video calls to loved ones. And speaking of loved ones, during a walkabout outside the Warrant Officers and Sergeants’ Mess, dad Rhian Davis, who happened to be carrying his 10-week-old daughter Dorothy, decided to speak to Kate about their young kids. “She asked whether she was sleeping through the night, and she told me that [Prince] Louis is starting to wave,” Rhian said of Kate. Kids, today they’re waving aimlessly at nothing and tomorrow they’re telling women at a bar they’re a prince.

Kate seemed to be on a roll openly talking about her kids because she revealed that she tried to show five-year-old Prince George and three-year-old Princess Charlotte the festive treats laid out for military families at Kensington Palace for yesterday’s party but when they arrived from school the treats were all gone. For shame. “We took the children down to where the party was but everything was gone,” Kate said. “They were so disappointed!” Expecting food and then not seeing anything is a travesty we can all relate to.

But not to worry, George was distracted by the fact that there was a chance he would be able to see a helicopter. William said, “I told George this morning we were going to see the pilots today, and he said, ‘If you see a helicopter, can you take a picture?’” Oh George, your dad probably owns a handful of them.
