Proud to be an American! Carrie Underwood‘s husband, Mike Fisher, experienced one of the biggest days in his life when he was sworn in as a U.S. citizen inside a courthouse on Thursday, March 21. “Big day I’m officially American,” he wrote alongside a photo on his Instagram Stories featuring himself holding the American flag.

As a Canadian native, Mike, 38, first came to the U.S. in 2011 when he began playing hockey for the Nashville Predators. In 2015, he and Carrie, 36, welcomed their first child, Isaiah Fisher, 4. They now have two kids after Carrie — to whom he has been married since 2010 — gave birth to Jacob Bryan Fisher, on January 21 this year.

“Carrie is enjoying her time at home with the boys so much,” an insider recently gushed to Life & Style. “She loves just nesting and focusing on her family. She’s in no rush to get back into work mode or spend hours working out.”

After Mike saw Jacob’s face for the first time, he couldn’t help but gush about him on social media. “Jacob Bryan Fisher! You are a gift from the Lord! The last few years has had its challenges and it makes this moment even more sweet! We didn’t know if Izzy would ever have another sibling but we learned through it all that God is in control and his timing is perfect!” Mike said in an Instagram post a few days welcoming Jacob into the world. “He is good all the time even in difficult times that are hard to understand. #grateful #miraclebaby.”

Now that Isaiah has a little sibling who he can play with, the couple feels like everything is going according to plan. “Carrie can’t believe how blessed she is,” a source previously told Closer Weekly about her state of mind. “This is a great time for Carrie and Mike, and they’re going to cherish every single moment.”

Congrats, Mike!
