Although not everyone agrees with Meghan Markle‘s decision to step back from her royal duties, her mom, Doria Ragland, will always have her back.

“Doria 100 percent supports Meghan’s decision to leave the royal family,” an insider exclusively tells Closer Weekly. “She hated seeing her daughter so unsettled in the U.K. and wants her to be happy. Meghan called Doria as soon as her royal duties were over to let her know how she got on.”

That’s why the yoga instructor was “happy” when she found out her daughter was splitting her time between Canada and the U.K. Doria only wanted to “spend more time” with her family, and she’ll finally get her chance when Harry and Meghan bring Archie to L.A.

“Doria hasn’t spent time with Archie since Christmas but will be seeing him very soon,” a third source told Closer on Monday, March 9. “Doria’s a very independent woman and has her own life in L.A., but she’s super excited about seeing her grandchild again!” What a sweet reunion that will be.

On Monday, March 9, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their final appearance as senior members of the royal family.
