One hip baby! Now that we’re a few weeks away from the newest royal baby’s arrival, we’ve learned that Meghan Markle isn’t exactly putting her first child on the usual route and she’ll be shaking things up.

“They plan to break tradition,” a source exclusively tells Closer Weekly. “Meghan is adamant that her baby follows her modern approach to life. She’s adamant that her child will be brought up as an open-minded individual.”

This should come as no major surprise as we’ve recently seen how the former actress, 37, is all about doing things a little differently — especially when compared to what the royals are accustomed to.

For starters, Meghan and Prince Harry‘s kiddo — who will be seventh in line to the throne — will not have a royal title like Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 11 months. Plus, while Prince William and Kate Middleton had no problem at all using nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo to help out with their three kids, the 34-year-old Duke and Meghan are apparently going to instead ask the Suits alum’s mother, Doria Ragland, for help.

“Doria’s going to be her child’s nanny,” a palace insider exclusively revealed to Closer Weekly. “The royals were insistent that she hire someone with international credentials and highly trained in security and self-defense [like Maria], but Meghan was having none of it. It’s Doria or no one.”

The royal pair is also interested in raising their kid in a different manner when it comes to gender. While little George is all about soccer and Charlotte is a fan of ballet, Meghan and Harry have other things in mind. “Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby. Her exact word was fluid,” an insider recently said. “She said they plan to raise their baby with a fluid approach to gender and they won’t be imposing any stereotypes.”

It certainly sounds like Meghan will raise this baby how she wants to raise it — regardless of what royal tradition states!
