The holidays are making Meghan Markle feel thankful. And the pregnant Duchess of Sussex is getting into the holiday spirit for Thanksgiving by cooking for the less fortunate.

Meghan, 37, stopped by the Hubb Community Kitchen in London on Nov. 21 to cook with some of the women she collaborated with to create Together: Our Community Cookbook.

It was announced that Meghan’s cookbook has sold nearly 40,000 copies in the UK and raised over $270,000 in the less than two months that it has been on sale, according to People. The proceeds of the book helped to keep the kitchen open, which is critical because Hubb has been aiding those affected by the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire in London. The tragedy claimed more than 70 lives and left countless families homeless.

Together celebrates the power of cooking to connect us to one another,” which is described in the preface of the book. “In the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire, a group of local women gathered together to cook fresh food for their families and neighbors. Over the chatter and aromas of the kitchen, they discovered the power of cooking and eating together to create connections, restore hope and normality, and provide a sense of home.”

This cookbook is also monumental as it marks the mom-to-be‘s first solo initiative as a royal. During her outing, Meg took to the streets wearing a burgundy coat and dress from Club Monaco. She paired the stunning look with black tights and black ankle booties. How festive!

This isn’t the only cooking that the Duchess is going to be doing this holiday season. Marking this as her first Thanksgiving as a royal, Meghan is apparently preparing a dinner for her fellow family members. “She is planning to host an American style Thanksgiving feast at her new Kensington Palace apartment,” a friend of the Duchess told Hollywood Life. “And she’s going to be making it all from scratch.”

According to the source, Meghan will allegedly be fixing up all the traditional Thanksgiving goodies. Despite Prince Harry, 34, apparently being “a bit worried about her overdoing it, her being pregnant and all,” Meghan is “full of energy” and “very excited to be doing this dinner for her new Royal family.”

Though it sounds extremely intimidating to be hosting a holiday for your husband’s family, we have no doubt that the Suits alum will nail it. We are so excited that Meghan is sticking by her American traditions, and we hope she and Harry enjoy this last Thanksgiving as a party of two. With their little bundle of joy expected to arrive in spring 2019, next year will be the couple’s first holiday with their first royal kiddo!
