Singer Marie Osmond is always learning something new from her family. When her 17-year-old daughter, Abigail, sent her a surprise text over the weekend, the Talk cohost decided to share what she likes the most about her kid to Instagram.

“This weekend so many things were going on, I was a little discombobulated and that left me unsettled — does that happen to you sometimes? I guess my family was aware of the pressures even though I try to keep personal pressures, ‘personal,’ 😂,” she wrote on Sunday, January 26 — the night of the  2020 Grammys took place. “Because when I woke up this morning I saw my daughter Abby had sent the Serenity Prayer to me. She said, ‘Mama, this is my favorite prayer, I just wanted to share it with you. I love you.'”

This weekend so many things were going on, I was a little discombobulated and that left me unsettled—does that happen to you sometimes? I guess my family was aware of the pressures even though I try to keep personal pressures, “personal,” 😂 because when I woke up this morning I saw my daughter Abby had sent the Serenity Prayer to me. She said, “Mama, this is my favorite prayer, I just wanted to share it with you. I love you.” The prayer reads: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen.” ~Reinhold Neibuhr This was such a gift to wake up to and just what I needed. My sweet daughter, who is now my teacher 😊, has been through so much in her 17 years so I understand why the Serenity prayer is important to her. I love how the three main words in the prayer work together, Serenity, Courage and Wisdom. Even though it has taken tremendous courage for Abby to accept the things in her life she cannot change, I can see the peace and strength growing in her because of that acceptance. My Sunday post is sent to you today through my loving daughter Abby and her favorite prayer. As we strive to have serenity and accept the things we cannot change, have courage to change the things we can, then we will be blessed with the wisdom to know the difference! #HappySunday

“The prayer reads: ‘God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference,'” Marie, 60, continued. She also shared a photo of the prayer on her Instagram post.

By receiving that inspirational message from Abigail, the “Paper Roses” singer started to think about how much her daughter has grown over the years. “This was such a gift to wake up to and just what I needed,” she said. “My sweet daughter, who is now my teacher 😊, has been through so much in her 17 years so I understand why the Serenity prayer is important to her.”

“I love how the three main words in the prayer work together, Serenity, Courage and Wisdom,” she continued. “Even though it has taken tremendous courage for Abby to accept the things in her life she cannot change, I can see the peace and strength growing in her because of that acceptance.”

Although Marie and Abigail have a really great bond, the mom of eight previously told Closer Weekly she has the most in common with her 30-year-old daughter, Rachael Krueger.

“My daughter Rachael and I are very similar in a lot of ways,” she said. “She has that same personality that I have where she wants to know and do everything. She’s never satisfied. She just took a hair class and now she’s taking this class.”

Marie sure is a great mom. Her kids are so much like her!
