Mommy to the rescue! Actress Kristen Bell took to Instagram to reveal that she had to take one of her daughters to the hospital after they accidentally smashed their finger at home.

“First emergency room visit. One hairline fracture and a finger smushed so hard in the door it popped like a jelly donut,” the Veronica Mars star, 39, wrote alongside a photo, in which she had covered her kid’s face with an emoji. “I’m not attaching a pic of the finger because there was literally burger popping out all over and it as pretty gross.”

First emergency room visit. One hairline fracture and a finger smushed so hard in the door it popped like a jelly donut. Thank you so much to @childrensla for the amazing care, thank u Dr. Olsen, and Sonia our child life specialist. Did you know that when you enter the emergency room at @childrensla you immediately get a "Child Life Specialist" trained to make sure your child knows what happening? And to make sure you understand all of what's happening and your choices? It made us feel so safe. And @childrensla follows up the next day with a phone call to make sure all is well after the trauma. Excellent care all around. Thank you to all who helped my baby. (Ps I'm not attaching a pic of the finger because there was literally burger popping out all over and it as pretty gross.)

Luckily for Kristen — who shares daughters Lincoln, 6, and Delta, 4, with husband Dax Shepard — she took her little one to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles where they received “amazing care.” Also in her post, Kristen explained the institution’s plan of action for any parent who brings their child in, something she said “made us feel so safe.”

“Thank you so much to @childrensla for the amazing care, thank u Dr. Olsen, and Sonia our child life specialist,” the Frozen star elaborated. “Did you know that when you enter the emergency room at @childrensla you immediately get a “Child Life Specialist” trained to make sure your child knows what happening? About two months ago, Kristen detailed to fans how she had narrowly avoided a visit to the hospital with one of her kids.

“Right before this photo was taken my youngest daughter shoved a jewel up her nose up to her brain and we jumped in the car headed to the emergency room,” she noted at the time — revealing that it ended up being a false alarm. “On the way she snorted it out and we re-routed and went to @nbcthegoodplace #FYC panel instead.”

Thank goodness everything was OK both times. Quick thinking by two of our favorite Hollywood parents!
