We should all send Kristen Bells two kids with Dax Shepard a thank you note for inspiring her to play Veronica Mars again! In a new interview with Access Hollywood, Kristen, 38, admitted her daughters — Lincoln, 6, and Delta, 4 — were a big reason why she decided to take on the role as the crime-fighting heroine once more.

“I’m here a lot of hours, which means, logistically, I’m away from my kids more hours,” she said. “I’m missing four or five bedtimes a week.” But once Kristen realized how much her character could be a good role model in her children’s lives she decided it wasn’t a bad idea to continue playing Veronica.

“When I decided to take on [this role], I was like, ‘You know what, now that I went back and reread the scripts and watched the show, I want my girls to have this character in their life,'” she said. “I made the choice as a mom, now — which was really hard — to go, ‘I’m gonna miss a couple bedtimes for a couple months, because I want this character to exist in the world.’ I want her to be a zeitgeist. I want girls to reference her, I want girls to feel like her.”

Kristen originally starred in Veronica Mars in 2004 until the show ended in 2007. After four great seasons, fans thought the series was officially over and done with until Kristen announced the beloved show will be revived on Hulu.
