Family fun! While Dax Shepard was recently spending some quality time with his family, he managed to snap a rare photo of them together while they were admiring a very classic car. Dax’s wife, Kristen Bell, wore matching denim outfits with her two daughters, Lincoln Shepard, 5, and Delta Shepard, 4, and carefully held onto them in a parking lot while Dax took the pic.

Dax, 43, shared the photo via Instagram on Friday, Dec. 28 and jokingly wrote in the caption, “Denim on denim on denim on denim on denim on denim on denim gawking at a hot rod wagon. @jaylenosgarage would be SOOO thrilled :).” Dax’s fans seemed to really like the snap of his beautiful family, too. One of his followers wrote, “Love this family amazing picture,” and another said, “I so love this picture. Happy new year to you all ♥️.”

If you’re wondering how Kristen and Dax have such a successful marriage, it starts with a lot of hard work. In a previous interview with Good Housekeeping, the 48-year-old mother said that couples counseling has done wonders for her five-year marriage to Dax. “Therapy is not something to be embarrassed about,” Kristen explained at the time. “I used to have a temper.” Not only did therapy help to save Kristen’s marriage, but it also helped her overcome her anger issues.

“I loved slamming doors — I wanted a dramatic exit! But he, having worked through a variety of emotional issues to get sober, said, ‘This isn’t going to work. This isn’t how I’m going to communicate for the rest of my life,'” she said. “When someone doesn’t fight back and goes, ‘I don’t want to do this,’ that threat is real. It makes you re-evaluate your behavior. The way Dax and I argue now — and we argue a lot; we disagree on almost everything!”

Dax learned to take a step back and tackle his disagreements with Kristen in a different way. “I said to Kristen, ‘We should try hard to police ourselves about becoming contemptuous of each other. If I ever see you roll your eyes at me, we need to hit pause and figure out what’s going on,'” he said. Today, Dax and his wife still don’t agree on everything, but they did learn to always put each other first no matter what!
