Paging Dr. Teddy Altman! After reprising her role on Grey’s Anatomy in guest appearances throughout Season 14, actress Kim Raver is returning to the ABC show full-time in Season 15. And she couldn’t be happier about the news!

Grey’s fans likely predicted this turn of events if they watched the Season 14 finale, during which Teddy, Grey Sloan’s former head of cardio, returned to Seattle and Bailey offered her the job of Interim Chief of Surgery. (Bailey is handing over the keys to the hospital to take a “sabbatical from stress.”) Then, at the very end of the finale, Teddy revealed she’s pregnant with a baby we have to assume is Dr. Owen Hunt’s.

“I am thrilled to reprise the role of Dr. Teddy Altman as a regular,” Kim said a statement. “Returning to Shondaland with the incredibly talented [showrunner] Krista Vernoff, [actress and producer] Ellen Pompeo, and the amazing cast is heavenly. I have a special place in my heart for Teddy and feel very lucky to have the opportunity to continue her story.”

And on Instagram, the 49-year-old actress shared a cute video of herself blowing “a million kisses” to her fans. “I’m so grateful to you guys, Shondaland, and the incredible cast for the love and support!” she wrote in the caption of the post.

Kim originally starred on the long-running medical drama from Season 6 to Season 8 — with Teddy coming in between Owen, her unrequited Army love, and Dr. Cristina Yang, her mentee. The actress left the show in the Season 8 finale as her character took a job with MEDCOM in Germany. At the time, Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes revealed Kim was “ready to give Teddy Altman” a much-needed vacation. The Grey’s Season 15 premiere will mark the first time a former series regular has returned to the show full-time.

And drama is bound to ensue: Teddy isn’t on the best of terms with Owen, after all, as she found out he flew out to Germany to woo her only at the urging of his ex-wife Dr. Amelia Shepherd. Meanwhile, Amelia admitted to developing feelings for Owen — real feelings, not brain tumor-induced feelings — in the Season 14 finale. Plus, Teddy may clash with Dr. Maggie Pierce, her successor in the head of cardio role. We’ll see how it all goes down when Grey’s returns to ABC next fall!
