A source confirmed to the news outlet that the mom-of-two is shooting a pilot episode for a syndicated daytime talk show. While the series has allegedly not been picked up by a network yet, it's being produced by NBCUniversal Television Distribution and could air in the fall of 2019 (although we wish it were sooner).
Kelly is used to being on television, so it makes sense why folks would want her to start in her own show. First off, she kicked off her highly successful career by winning the singing reality competition American Idol in 2002. On top of that, she's appeared as a guest on many popular talk shows herself, including The Ellen DeGeneres, Live!, and The View. She's also currently a host on the NBC singing competition The Voice — and she loves it apparently!
"She would be a coach every season if they let her," a source told Life & Style in a previous issue of the magazine. "But she’s also got a lot more lined up — deals and specials with NBC. Kelly now feels like she can do anything."
Speaking of doing anything, Kelly's good news comes after the music sensation debuted her 40-pound weight loss this year. According to Life & Style, the 36-year-old "really is in a great place" today.
But it took her some time to get there. "She kept it a secret from fans because she wanted to get it under control first," an insider recently told the news outlet. "Now she feels like she can be an advocate for a healthier lifestyle. This isn’t something she did to get skinny. She did it for her family and for herself."
It seems like there's no better time than now for Kelly to start her own talk show if you ask us — and we personally can't wait to see her on the small screen!
