We’re so jealous! Kate Middleton seemed to have the best time ever with Queen Elizabeth when they went on their first solo outing together in London on Tuesday, March 19. They did so many fun activities like watch a robotics demonstration in the King’s College’s Strand campus and see a panoramic view of the city. But the best part was probably when they were leaving the campus in one of the queen’s cars and were photographed sharing a blanket together.

They threw the cozy blue blanket on top of their laps and waved to royal fans who took pictures of both of them in the car. Due to the 55-degree weather, Kate, 37, and the queen, 92, were probably freezing outside because they both wore dresses to the college campus. Kate had on a beautiful coat dress by Catherine Walker with black stockings and Queen Elizabeth donned a Stewart Parvin pink cashmere coat that covered half of her legs.

In the car, the queen may have even talked to Kate about her alleged feud with Prince Harry‘s wife, Meghan Markle. Apparently, the two young royals have been at odds with each other for a couple of months now and the monarch is relying on Kate to put it to an end.

“She sees Kate as the more experienced royal,” an insider previously told Life & Style Weekly. “In the queen’s eyes, Kate and Meghan’s feud mirrors that of a cheap soap opera. She’s embarrassed beyond belief. She can’t get her head around why they can’t just get along like adults.”

But the queen is hopeful that Meghan’s pregnancy will help her resolve her issues with Kate. “She’s growing tired of reading about [it],” a different source recently told Closer Weekly about the queen. “She believes that once Meghan gives birth, the two of them will have more in common and will bond over their children.”
