John Stamos Tears Up Thanking His Late Parents at TV Land Icon Awards - Closer Weekly

John Stamos paid tribute to his late parents in the sweetest way possible at last night’s TV Land Icon Awards.

While accepting the evening’s Timeless Icon Award, the 52-year-old actor got emotional while thanking his late parents, Loretta Phillips and Bill Stamos, for all their love and support throughout his showbiz career.

“I want to thank my parents. Boy, they would’ve loved this, Loretta and Bill… They were really good people. They taught me to be kind and to be generous and to be loving to everyone that you meet on this journey,” John said onstage while holding back tears.

“And appreciate every single moment you have on this planet because it’s so damn precious. I’m gonna treasure this moment, thank you,” he continued.

John’s father, Bill, died in 1998 and his mother, Loretta, sadly passed away in September 2014.
