Jennifer Lopez and Joanna Gaines Have Become ‘Incredibly Close’ While Working on House Renovation (Exclusive)
What better way to form a tight bond then over a house renovation, right? After years of being a secret HGTV fan, it seems like Jennifer Lopez asked Joanna Gaines to help renovate her new Malibu mansion, and the Fixer Upper alum, of course, did not say no.
“From an outsiders perspective, Joanna and J.Lo seem [like] unlikely friends — J.Lo’s all about the glitz and glamor whereas Joanna’s a country girl who’d rather wear a flannel shirt than be [decked] out in designer clothes, but the pair have become incredibly close and enjoy hanging out together,” a source exclusively told Closer Weekly. “They both share a passion for business and making millions, and have more in common than everyone thinks. J.Lo’s a keen learner and is really interested in interior design so is getting tips from her new pal!”
Making millions sure is a nice passion to have! It also seems like the 49-year-old has a pretty spot-on nickname for the 40-year-old television personality. “J.Lo even jokingly calls Joanna ‘J.Gaines.'” the insider revealed.
And how big of a Joanna fan is the hitmaker? Well, she once revealed how she was a complete fangirl when she found herself in a FaceTime call with the designer. “It was, like, a Sunday and [my boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez], was like, ‘I want you to do a meeting,'” Jennifer recently said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “And he loves meetings. He loves to do meetings and I hate meetings. And he’s like, ‘I want you to do a meeting with me’ and I’m always, like, dragged into these meetings … And he opens up the FaceTime and it’s Joanna Gaines! And I was like, ‘Agh!’ … I totally fangirled out.”
Jennifer then revealed how happy she was that her boyfriend, 43, paid so close attention to the TV shows she loves. “I was looking at him and I was like, ‘You listened to me! I love you. You are so amazing!’” she recalled. “It really blew me away.”
