Pierce Brosnan Gushes Over Quarantining With Wife Keely Shaye Smith and Their Kids in Hawaii
Family fun! Pierce Brosnan, wife Keely Shaye Smith and their two kids, Dylan, 23, and Paris, 19, have been quarantining together in Hawaii amid the coronavirus pandemic. “I wanted to be with my family,” Pierce says in Closer Weekly magazine’s latest issue, on newsstands now. “We have a wee cottage out there on the North Shore, and it sits on [five] acres.”
While there, Pierce, 67, and Keely, 56, have been enjoying the lovely weather on the beach. They even celebrated the journalist’s birthday on the island by sharing a few lovely photos of them kissing in front of a sunset. It’s during this time in Pierce’s life that he feels compelled to finish his memoir. “At 67 years of age, it’s time to put something down,” he recently told Entertainment Tonight Canada. “It’s hard. Sometimes you are faced with the blankness of memory.”
But thanks to his beloved, Pierce has been having all sorts of adventures and it all started the day he met the author on a beach in Mexico in April 1994. “We talked until 3 in the morning,” Keely previously recalled about their encounter in Cabo San Lucas to People. “He’s intelligent, captivating and his real beauty emanates from the soul.”
It wasn’t long until the Die Another Day actor fell for the TV host’s “vitality ” and “passion.” A few years before they wed in August 2001, they welcomed son Dylan in January 1997 and their other son, Paris, in February 2001. Now, as a dad of five to Paris, Dylan, and his three kids from his previous marriage to Cassandra Harris, Charlotte, Sean and Christopher, Pierce feels ready to jot down his greatest achievements in a captivating novel.
“I’m beginning to feel my years [but] I’m beginning to love my years. With all of that comes lovely, joyful well-being,” the actor has said. “Life is so precious. It can be snatched away without any prior warning so why waste it? That’s why I enjoy my wonderful, beautiful family.”
