Congrats!Hilary Swank Just Married Philip Schneider After Almost Two Years of Dating

She’s officially off the market! Hilary Swank has married Philip Schneider after almost two years of dating, Vogue revealed on Tuesday, Aug. 21. The 44-year-old actress and the social venture entrepreneur were previously set up on a blind date by a friend and became engaged after a year and a half of dating. 

“We don’t know why we waited that long!” Hilary said of their Colordao engagement in 2016. “We stumbled upon a beautiful sanctuary deep in the mountains. It had a stunning waterfall that cascades down to rustic cabins built in the 1800s surrounded by beautiful pines and big skies. One evening, Philip dropped to his knee in front of the waterfall and proposed — he sweetly made sure my dogs were nearby so they could bear witness!”

Fast forward to 2018 and Hilary and Philip tied the knot in an elegant outdoor ceremony in the Redwoods in California. “It was timeless. There is just no other way to describe it,” the Oscar winner told Vogue. “I was overwhelmed with such gratitude and thanks to be marrying the man of my dreams and to see all the people we love together in the middle of such a profound setting. It was truly a dream come true.”

Hilary was walked down the aisle by her father, Stephen Swank — who recently underwent a lung transplant — and her close friend, actress Mariska Hargitay, served as a bridesmaid. 

On her wedding day, Hilary looked gorgeous in an Elie Saab Couture gown featuring 25 meters of Chantilly lace, eight meters of silk chiffon, and six meters of organza silk. The dress took 150 hours to create, 70 hours of which were focused exclusively on the gown’s delicate embroidery. 

“I’ve loved Elie Saab for years and was thrilled to have him design my dress. I wanted something romantic that felt as timeless as the redwood grove where we were to be married, and he delivered — designing something that far surpassed my greatest expectations. It was everything I imagined and more,” she said of her dress. 

Hilary’s marriage to Philip is her second. She was previously hitched to Chad Lowe for 10 years before their 2007 divorce. The actress also began dating Philip just a few months after she called off her engagement from Ruben Torres in June 2016. Congratulations to Hilary and Philip on their wedding!
