Being a mother isn’t easy! Just ask, Hilaria Baldwin! The mother-of-four admitted that even though she loves taking care of her four kids, she often feels mommy guilt when she wants to make time for herself and focus on her well-being.

“I’ve decided that this year is going to be the year where I’m going to try to go back to sleep if I can, even if it means sleeping, like, ten minutes,” Hilaria, 35, in a new interview with Architectural Digest. “I think a lot of times there’s such mom guilt of, ‘Oh, well, if I’m not doing something for everybody else, then I’m letting everybody down.’ But I also feel like I need to think about me a little bit more. So, I’m trying to live that.”

Mommy is happy tired…I know we have been using “self-care” a lot recently. It’s so important….especially when we feel so stretched thin as parents. One of my favorite ways to give back to myself is focusing on my health. If I feel good, I’m capable of such patience and happiness. I’m a better mom, partner, friend, human. We all know that I am a big advocate of exercise and healthy eating. I’ve also been learning so much about skin care. I hope you listened to @dermatologyandlasergroup on @mombrain this week. Dr. Akhavan is amazing…especially for a mama who is breastfeeding and still interested in having another kid. I love his versatility and his ability to take care of my skin in a way that feels safe for my body and my babies—without crazy chemicals that could be harmful. I hope you enjoy the podcast. Hilaria is trying to not be so hard on herself when it comes to parenting. After all, she does have her hunky husband, Alec Baldwin, at home to help her take care of their young kids, Carmen, 5, Rafael, 3, Leonardo, 2, and their new baby, Romeo, 9 months. With her husband’s help, the yoga instructor has been able to fit in a workout or two around the house.

“The most important thing with any kind of workout is to be consistent,” Hilaria explained. “Do it most days. It doesn’t have to be the same workout, but you should move your body every single day. You shouldn’t have a day where you’re just sitting down.”

Hilaria even admitted that her Instagram can be quite misleading because she always posts these amazing pics of herself working out at home. “What I do on my Instagram, my little found-moment workouts, [can be] like using a chair and working my triceps or getting down and doing a little cat-cow or downward-facing dog,” she said. “People think, because I post these things on my Instagram, that I’m working out all the time. I’m not! On my happy days, if I get what I want, I run for about 30 minutes and then I’ll take 45 minutes — not the entire class — of a barre class.” Hilaria is so exceptional!
