Poor George! Four months after George Clooney was involved in a scary motorcycle accident on the Italian island of Sardinia, the 57-year-old actor has sold his prized Harley-Davidson bike online to raise money for veterans with the charitable organization Homes for our Troops.

“Ever since George Clooney’s motorcycle accident, his wife, Amal [Clooney], has told him he’s off two wheels for good. George just bought a brand new dresser Harley with only 25 miles on the odometer! All yours if you win the bidding. You’re responsible for pickup in Los Angeles. George will even sign it for you!!!” the original eBay listing for George’s black 2017 Dressing Touring Ultra Limited FHLTK cycle read.

The bike was first listed for $28,000 but later sold after 27 bids on Thursday, Nov. 15 for a whopping $48,989. The proceeds from the sale will be used to help build houses for severely injured post-9/11 veterans via the charity Homes for Our Troops. Other celebrities supporting the cause through the eBay sale include Ben Stiller, Kenny Chesney, and CNN anchor Jake Tapper, just to name a few!

After George’s motorcycle accident this past summer, a source close to the actor and his 40-year-old wife exclusively told Closer Weekly that Amal was “furious” about George’s reckless ways, especially now that they’re parents to one-year-old twins Ella and Alexander.

“While George is blowing it off as no big deal, Amal is furious. She and his friends have been wanting him to get rid of that scooter. His mother even called him to admonish him about it, that she’s been wanting him to get rid of it, too,” the insider shared at the time. We’re sure Amal’s happy George has now decided to give up motorcycles for good!
