Amal Clooney Is “Furious” With Husband George Clooney After Motorcycle Accident (EXCLUSIVE)
Last week, George Clooney worried his wife, Amal Clooney, and fans everywhere after the scary motorcycle accident in Italy on Tuesday, July 10 that left him injured.
“While George is blowing it off as no big deal, Amal is furious,” an insider told Closer Weekly. “She and his friends have been wanting him to get rid of that scooter. His mother even called him to admonish him about it, that she’s been wanting him to get rid of it, too.”
The injury happened in the early morning hours when George, 57, was thrown over the handlebars of his scooter after being hit by a Mercedes on the island of Sardinia, officials said. The driver of the car allegedly didn’t abide by the right of way and hit the dad-of-two with his vehicle. According to TMZ, George was going 60 mph at the time and was thrown 20 feet in the air.
George was soon taken to the hospital via ambulance following the crash because he was complaining of “a slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm,” according to La Nuova. But after a negative MRI and some minor injuries, he was sent home to his wife and their one-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, just two hours after the accident.
“George is saying that he’s fine,” an insider told Closer. “He sent out a text to all of the posse saying something to the effect of, ‘You all know what a klutz I’ve always been on and off the basketball court, and now on the streets of Italy on my bike.'”
George and his family are Italy because he’s filming Catch 22. In fact, he is quite the family man, and although Amal is currently mad at George, in a recent interview, she couldn’t help but gush about her husband of nearly four years. “He is a gentleman in every sense of the word and in a way that seems so rare these days and perhaps even outdated,” Amal shared at a recent gala, adding that he’s “incredibly generous” and enjoys “spoiling loved ones.”
Amal concluded, “He is a gentleman in every sense of the word and in a way that seems so rare these days and perhaps even outdated. Although George modestly attributes much of the success we are celebrating here tonight to luck, I think it’s incredible talent and character that got him here. And these attributes also make him an amazing husband and father.” We’re so glad George is feeling better!
