Legendary singer Elton John revealed that he and his partner, David Furnish, have discussed having kids, but accept that they are already up there in age.

“That’s it, I mean we’re too old to have anymore,” the 72-year-old told The Sun. “If we were 20 years, 15 years younger, we’d have probably had another one at least. But with the boys we’ve got enough on our hands.”

The pair, married since 2014, share two sons — Zachary, 8, and Elijah, 6. “It’s fantastic being a dad. Ten years ago if you’d have told me that, I’d have said you’re crazy,” the hitmaker told the outlet, adding that as a father he has “other things to do” with his time — he is currently on his goodbye tour Farewell Yellow Brick Road.

“Family is the most important thing,” the music icon told The Mirror, explaining why he’s leaving the road life behind. “I just owe it to those children to be there for them.”

He added, “I’m fed up with traveling. And I travel in the nicest, most comfortable, luxurious way but I find it really boring. “My children need to be with me and I need to be with them. I would like to spend more time with David and my children.”

Even though Elton is calling it quits on touring, he did admit that his kids still know exactly what he does on stage.

“They know what their daddy does, but I never bring Elton home,” the songwriter told the outlet of his flamboyant stage persona. “They love their daddy’s music, but they also like a lot of other people’s music, so they’re quite grounded as far as that goes.”

The “Tiny Dancer” singer’s life will soon be depicted on screen in the biopic Rocketman. Actor Taron Egerton will play the role of the musical giant.
