Showing support. Carrie Ann Inaba was “really sad” to learn about her good friend Julianne Hough‘s split from husband Brooks Laich.

“I get how relationships go up and down — look at me!” the 52-year-old, who was previously engaged twice told People on Monday, June 1. “You have to follow your heart because life is once, that we remember, and it’s so hard to be married in the spotlight and then break up.”

The Talk cohost got engaged to Jesse Sloan in November 2011 after two years of dating, but they called off their engagement one year later. She moved on with Robb Derringer and he proposed in December 2016, but they called off their engagement in September 2017 after three years together.

Although Carrie has never made it down the aisle, she said she still knows what it feels like to go through a difficult split. “I wasn’t even married and it was so hard to break up with my exes, so I get that,” she said. “All I want to say to Julianne is that I love you and I support you. Anything you need, I’m right here. I’m your sister, always. Judges sisters!”

The two became friends on Dancing With the Stars. They hit it off when Carrie became a judge on the show in 2005 and they remained close when Julianne left the program in 2008. With everything that the singer is going through, it’s nice that Carrie can be there for Julianne during this difficult time.

On Friday, May 29, Julianne revealed she was separating from her hubby after nearly three years of marriage. “We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate,” Julianne and Brooks said, according to People. “We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place. We kindly request your compassion and respect for our privacy moving forward.”

According to In Touch Weekly, the former couple has been having “marriage woes” for a while now and they couldn’t figure out how to make it work. Brooks has been “working on finding himself” since his ice hockey career is over and he’s still “coming to terms” with that. “I think he struggled to understand Julianne’s free-spirited nature,” the source said, adding the pair have “matured into different people.”

Although the two are going their separate ways, the insider notes they “still love each other deeply.” Hopefully, that won’t ever change.
